Originally came with the 400w(?) Currie silver can that was either geared or engineered for low speeds, high-torque. Climbed up North Vancouver's trails and was fun to bomb downhill. Had lots of flats until I learned how to end the flat-tire plague, once and for all.
|Motor||Currie Not the factory model. Brushless DC|
I like this big-finned motor a lot, since the original un-finned silver can tended to
|Drivetrain||Now has the "big cooling fin" 600w Currie(?) motor|
|Batteries||2 Rob's Revived Batteries, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, AGM|
Running on 2nd set of revived (free!) batteries. Battery box isn't bullet-proof, but my bungee cord has kept the box intact for years, like nearly-new.
|System Voltage||24 Volts|
Sold the OEM charger, and got Soneil.
|Top Speed||16 MPH (25 KPH)|
|Range||10 Miles (16 Kilometers)|

|Additional Features||Double-parallelogram suspension seatpost ($150), extra-comfort gel/pad "no pain" saddle --- chosen after trying out nearly 10 saddles.|
A magnet for bike-thieves, but the electric motor seems to keep most, not all, baddies away.
|Equipped to the hilt with safety toys, for the urban mine field. Except the anti-aggression light that's on the other electric scooters. |
Reading "Lives Per Gallon" is a good way to rest while this ebike is charging on a long trip. We took our ebikes on a holiday and saved $$$ -- ebikes are much cheaper than cars, on ferries. The hotel didn't get to nickel us the $20 nightly parking fee, either.
Downtown, one day, a young toughie said, 'How much you want for this bike?' I said, "Sorry, it's not for sale." He doubled his offer, and I still turned him down. Perhaps, wisely, I decided to move my ebike's parking spot to another location.
