Vehicle1971 Morrison Crompton Leyland E/FG 30
I’m restoring this old float and making a few alterations for example fitting a box type back and solar panels to the roof along with a back up generator to charge batteries. Long story short modernize it.
Motor
At the moment it has a Morrison Electricar MC35 3kW 48v-60v 4Hp.

I’m thinking of installing a Warp 11 Series Wound Motor - 182 Nm torque, 5500 RPM 120v. or the Azure Dynamics AC55 link below. WebPage
DrivetrainDirect Drive about 10:1 reduction box on diff.

Might have to find a replacement diff to fit axel with a 5:1 ish.
Controller
A simple 4 step resistance type. A four stage time lag switch connected to the foot peddle brings in four contactors each taking out a resister one at a time. I’m looking at fitting the 120V 400A Regen Braking Controller Pack available from Everything-EV.com.
or the Azure Dynamics DOMC445 WebPage

Batteries0.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded
I scraped the old cells & got £75 for them not bad ;-)
Would love to fit Lithium but may have to settle for the Trojan T105 6V (Lithium still Expensive but by the time I save for motor, controller etc who knows)
Charger
old 48V 100A Forklift charger,
Depends on what batteries and voltage I use.
DC/DC Converter
Was tapped of 6 cell’s.
Will fit dc-dc converter once I decide what wattage I need at the end.
InstrumentationSpeedo Up grading to a pc controlled 8” TFT Screen To display speed, RPM, Miles, Batt Voltage ETC
Top Speed15 MPH (24 KPH)
I’m hoping to get around 50mph, going for power more than speed due to there being more hills than level road in Cornwall. Also I don’t think up grading the brakes an fitting shocks at the back are going to make it more stable at high speed.
Range40 Miles (64 Kilometers)
Originally it was 43 miles I’m hoping around 100miles (you never know pigs might fly)
EV Miles
Start:60,214 Miles (96,884 Kilometers)

Total:-60,214 Miles (-96,884 Kilometers)
