Vehicle2009 Canadian Electric Vehicles Might-E Truck
Manufactured from the ground up by Canadian Electric Vehicles using standard North American automotive parts.
MotorD&D Motor Systems, Inc. Separately Excited DC
Also Available with AC Drive System

DrivetrainDirect drive through custom gear reduction
ControllerCurtis 1274-7401
SEPEX controller 72 volt 500 amp 72 volt logic
Batteries12 US Battery 2400, 6.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, Flooded
The twelve 6 volt lead acid batteries make up the battery pack which has a 225 amp hour rating. On a single charge the Might-E Truck has a driving range of up to 90 km (load/terrain dependent).
System Voltage72 Volts
ChargerDelta-Q Technologies
72 V / 12 A @ 100VAC-230VAC with built-in charger interlock. The charger is UL, CSA and CE approved and capable of charging to full charge from 80% in less than 7 hours.
HeaterThe Might-E Truck temperature performance range is significantly increased on the lower end of the scale with the battery heating pad system. The Might-E Truck is capable of performing in temperatures ranging from -20 to 40 degrees Celsius. The Might-E Truck is equipped with window defrost and a passenger heating system.

InstrumentationLocated on the dash panel readily visible to the driver is the battery monitor which is a “fuel” gauge as well as an hour meter and system diagnostic display (system diagnostic is a feature of the AC drive system only). The LED gauge displays state of charge, energy reserve alarm and empty alarm. The gauge will also recognize improperly charged batteries. The hour meter monitors use-time, remains on as long as battery is connected and stores latest total in memory without need of power. The AC system gauge also displays vehicle speed, battery voltage, percent of charge remaining and motor temperature.

The Might-E Truck dash also has a voltmeter which measures the voltage on the 12 volt auxiliary system.
Top Speed25 MPH (40 KPH)
Programmable speed to meet regulations for Low Speed Vehicles or Neighborhood Electric Vehicles
Range50 Miles (80 Kilometers)
Load and terrain dependent
Seating Capacity2 adults
Curb Weight2,100 Pounds (954 Kilograms)
The Might-E Truck has a GVWR of 1355 kg, is capable of carrying a payload of 680 kg and has a towing capacity of 1800 kg. For Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) certified on-road applications the payload is 230 kg. The Might-E Truck has a record of great performance on paved and gravel roads and has an option of turf tires for grass and dirt terrain.

Additional FeaturesAC Drive System
The AC drive system provides more torque than a standard DC system. This translates into more power for the Might-E Truck to transverse steep inclines while fully loaded with minimal reduction in speed. The AC drive system has no motor brushes to wear out and is virtually maintenance free.

Might-E Truck AC drive technology incorporates a regenerative braking system which converts the kinetic energy generated during braking to usable energy to recharge the batteries. The regenerative braking increases the Might-E Truck driving range.

Brakes
The Might-E Truck braking system also incorporates a four wheel disc brake system option. Most NEV’s rely on custom brake parts which are very expensive to replace, whereas, the Might-E Truck is designed and built utilizing standard GM 10” disc brakes making the brakes easy to service and inexpensive to repair.

Large 10” disc brakes give the Might-E Truck exceptional park brake capacity. The Might-E Truck fully loaded will hold on a 15% grade and an empty truck will hold on a 25% grade.

Rust/Corrosion Prevention
All components are individually painted before assembly with automotive grade paints. In addition, at time of assembly Might-E Truck is sprayed with a wax-based anticorrosion rust proofing and gravel guard to further protect against corrosion.

Hydraulic Dump System
The hydraulic dump system has a single acting pump so power is only used on the “up“ stroke of the system allowing the weight of the dump box to return it to the travel position. This system reduces the power needed per lift cycle and has minimal effect on the vehicle range (less than 10% reduction in range.)

Power Steering
Available power steering option.
