| Have tried a few different motors and gear ratios before settling on the Toyota starter. First attempt was with a large Ford starter but it was drawing some huge current and was very inneficient. Second try was with a 4.5kW aircraft starter motor, but likewise with the current draw; the batteries couldn't keep up. The brake should be upgraded but the kart is a lot of fun to drive...it can even drift! | |
