Vehicle Steele Quad
This is a mini atv with extensive upgrades and
modifications
Motor Permanent Magnet DC
Originally a 24V 750W motor from a golf buggy,
it has been over-volted to 50V. Capable of
handling 110Amps. Have tested it to 132A.
Maximum power acheived has been 5770W when
accelerating.
Drivetrain25:1 transaxle-motor unit with built in
differential.
ControllerYi Yun
24V - 60V DC controller. Can handle short
periods of around 100A. Tested to 132A.
Batteries8 x 6s Lipolymer packs, 50.00 Volt, Lithium-Polymer
Each pack is a 6s 20-30C discharge RC aircraft
battery. The entire system is 2S4P making a
50V 20Ah High discharge pack. Peak constant
discharge is rated as 400A, Short burst peak
is 600A. Fully charged the pack is (4.2V x
12)= 50.4V. The pack must not go below 36V
(3.0V per cell) as Li-poly batteries become
permanently damaged if discharged below this.
I have 2 low battery alarms on different packs
that signal when the cell voltage reaches 3.5V
per cell.
Batteries can be charged at a max rate of 2C -
meaning half an hour.

Each of the 8 packs weighs 600g.

Total weight = 3.6kg and has a capacity of
1000Wh
System Voltage50 Volts
Charger Turnigy Accucell 6
InstrumentationCycle wireless speedometer.

2 Battery monio
tors with low voltage alarms
Top Speed20 MPH (32 KPH)
The 25:1 gear reduction ensures that a safe top
speed is reached very quickly, providing
exceptional torque.
Acceleration0-20mph acceleration timed in approximately 2
seconds. The torque delivered by the system
originally lifted the front wheels up
(throwing the rider off the back!) The rear
drive wheels were therefore extended further
behind the drivers seat.
Range30 Miles (48 Kilometers)
Upto 30 miles is acheivable with the 6 batteries
currently used.Vigorous driving will empty the
packs in approximately 5 miles.

Energy available = 750W/h
Seating Capacity1
Curb Weight0
Approximately 35kg
TiresFour 18inch quad wheel tyres.
Additional FeaturesDue to motor over-volting there can be a significant build up of heat
in the drive motor. A cooling fan blows air directly on to the motor
casing providing a cooling stream of air surrounding the case.
