I did not want to build something wimpy so I choose the
SV1000 to have plenty of room for batteries and motor. The
previous owner dumped the bike and didn't want to rebuild it.
The truss-style frame is very light yet has a GVWR rating of
940lbs.

March 2011: The motor is installed and the project just sits. Sure wish I had spare time in the winter. Summer is just too hot to stay in Yuma.

November, 2010: The frame is at a fabricator having an aluminum motor mount welded up. I am scraping the AGM
battery idea and getting bids now for Li-ion battery with BMS.

April 11, 2009 update. January ~ April are my busy months so not much was
accomplished. I spoke with Vic at D&D motors. He seemed very knowledgeable and
helped me decide on the motor and controller. I am ordering it this week so I can get
back to work on this.

December 2008. This is my first conversion. I am still doing my study to select the right
parts. I'm in the renewable energy business so I have access to lots of materials and
resources. The bike is now striped down and I'm looking for the motor and controller. If
you are willing to help me, please email evproject@starlightsolar.com. Thanks.
