| Vehicle | 2004 eGO Helio (Ego Cycle 2) OEM made Helio electric moped. Designed in the USA but made in Taiwan this low-power electric moped is classed as an electric bicycle in certain parts of the world. However, thanks to UK and EU law it's classed as a moped in the UK. As a consequence any UK rider needs to insure the eGo Helio, register and make it road-legal. You also have to have an appropriate driver's license to ride it. |
| Motor | eGO Series Wound DC 1.5Kw continuous rated motor, capable of 4Kw peak. |
| Drivetrain | Two stage, reduction belt gearing. The moped is always in gear when turned on, meaning regeneration whenever the throttle is closed. |
| Controller | Sevcon SC1000 SC1000 controller, by Sevcon. I'm hoping to tweak this to help increase the performance of the eGo. It's rated to 250A at up to 36V. |
| Batteries | 2, 12.00 Volt, Lead-Acid, AGM |
| System Voltage | 24 Volts |
| After owning it for just 10 days, I found it so slow and dangerous that I sold it on. I've now got an MZ ETZ 250 which I'm converting to electric. A proper bike! | |
